AVON: Now vs. Then

I recently signed up with AVON again. I sold it several years ago and loved it, but I got sidetracked with other things in life and stopped.

When I sold Avon before, I feel like it was still mainly a face-to-face selling company. Although, that is still a huge part of the company, Avon's online presence has grown substantially since the last time I was a part of it. Avon did have pre-made online stores for their representatives back then, but social media was not as big. This made advertising that eStore a little more difficult. Letting customers know about your eStore comprised of email lists and putting your website on all your brochures. Both of which are still great to use, but slow to gain traction on their own.

Skip to today. Almost everyone I am in contact with, in my life, is on some sort of social media platform; mainly Facebook. This was not the case the last time I sold Avon. Social media has literally changed the game in direct selling, whether your selling Avon or any other brand. Also, more and more people are doing their shopping online now.



This is one of several reasons I decided to get back into Avon.

 I hate to admit it, but I never really was that good at the whole face-to-face selling part of Avon. I didn't like the idea of just approaching random people, businesses, or even family and friends pushing a product to sell. Now, if someone approached me and said something like, "I like your eye shadow! Where did you get it?" I had no problem letting them know it was from Avon and that I could sell it to them. That didn't feel as pushy since they had let me know they were interested in something I was using. I, also, felt like people felt awkwardly obligated to be polite and just smile and nod along if I ever did bring up Avon face-to-face. This is not really a position I want to put anyone in.

A little disclaimer here: I am not at all saying that doing face-to-face selling or anything that goes along with that is a bad thing. There are plenty of representatives that have become and are still highly successful selling Avon this way, and if that is something you want to try or are just good at then more power to you! I just happen to be not so good at it and just don't prefer it.

I am so glad that I can utilize my Avon eStore more this time around and connect with customers over social media. This is something I am so much more comfortable with, and I think it's a lot easier for the customers as well.

Instead of having to find the items you want with their corresponding item numbers, contacting me, telling me all of those items, waiting for me to place my order, and then waiting for me to deliver that order to you; you can just go straight to my eStore, order those items, and get them direct delivered to you. How much easier is that? Plus, you can be sure that you are getting the latest deals and promotions when you go online to shop.

Welcome To My New Beauty Blog!

I debated just using my other blog, AngeLeBoop.blogspot.com, for my new posts, but I decided that I wanted to keep things a little more separate.

So, my other blog will remain more of a personal and family blog, while this one will showcase my love of makeup and beauty products while I start my adventure as an AVON Independent Sales Representative.

I am so excited to share my experience with AVON and to have fun showing off some awesome products. I hope you enjoy getting all the latest deals and keeping up with my journey into AVON.
